Help map our coverage
The ABC-LTE Coverage app records our signal strength and your location while you move around, and adds it to the public coverage map. It only records when your phone is on our network (314-990), so it does nothing with other carriers' SIMs.
Download the app (Android 9 or newer)
Install
- Tap the download button on your Android phone.
- Open the file. If Android asks, allow your browser to "install unknown apps" — the app isn't in the Play Store yet.
- Open ABC-LTE Coverage, allow location ("While using the app" is enough) and notifications, then tap Start recording.
Recording keeps going with the screen off (you'll see a notification). Tap Stop when you're done. Readings upload automatically over Wi-Fi or mobile data, and are kept on the phone if you have no connection.
Speed tests
Tap Speed test to measure download, upload and latency over our network (even if you're on Wi-Fi, the test uses mobile data). A test runs about 15 seconds and can use up to about 100–150 MB on a fast connection. Results appear on the map as dots.
What gets sent
- Location and GPS accuracy, about once a second while recording.
- Our cell you're connected to, nearby cells, signal strength and quality.
- Your phone model and app version.
It does not send your phone number, name, SIM serial or account. Each install gets a random ID that only we can see. On the public map, readings are combined into squares of about 20 m or larger, without times or IDs. Speed test dots are moved to the nearest ~40 m and show only the date. Uninstalling the app stops all collection. To have your readings removed, contact us at admin@abc-hosters.com with the install ID shown in the app.
